Postponement of the CSI 5^« KL Grand Prix 2009

The CSI 5* KL Grand Prix has now been postponed to March 18 to 21, 2010.

Asiapromote Ventures Sdn Bhd has proudly organised the CSI 5-Star KL Grand Prix successfully to world acclaim since 2003. During that time, the event has attracted the world’s best riders and placed Malaysia on the international calendar for equestrian sports. We are proud to note that the KL Grand Prix has won an international award and generated significant tourism revenue.

However, circumstances beyond our control have impacted our planning and organisation of the KL Grand Prix this year.  The economic storms raging across the globe have caused market forces to reshape the landscape.  A number of top equestrian events and sporting events in the world have fallen victim to this global onslaught.

Having deliberated and consulted with relevant stakeholders, Asiapromote has decided that it is in the best interest of all parties that the event be postponed.  We cannot, in all conscience, delay any longer in making this decision.

 Asiapromote has built its reputation based on meeting our exacting standards for this 5-star event, and will not compromise on the quality of the event we produce.  Following this, the decision taken has been calculated to protect the integrity of the KL Grand Prix, Asiapromote, Malaysia and the sport.

We are pleased to confirm that funding is in now place for the KL Grand Prix to be staged from March 18 to 21, 2010.

Colour your calendar! Make a date with the 2010 CSI 5* KL Grand Prix.  Asia’s premier equestrian event, the KL Grand Prix is a spectrum of action, colours, equine magic and more.

Horse lover or not, if you like action sport and fast-paced entertainment and fun, the KL Grand Prix is where you should be. Olympic medallists, World Cup Champions, world champions and grand prix winners will be in Kuala Lumpur to battle for one of the richest purses in Asia.  Asia’s leading riders will be vying for the title in honour of their country in the second FEI Asian Nations Cup.

This year, the KL Grand Prix is more than just showjumping. Making an appearance for the first time is dressage.  Top dressage riders from Europe and Asia will be competing in a CDI 2*.  To add more excitement to the show, a demonstration of indoor polo will rock the crowd.  And the Pony Club Mounted Games return by popular demand to quicken the pulse of the audience.

For those who are less horse crazy, games, pony and carriage rides, exhibition and shopping over the five days have you, your family and friends reeling in fun and enjoyment.
